Designated Area: The beach detachment is located at PSD Yokosuka. It is an open area to provide customer service. Two Personnel Specialists are requested to stay behind; however, only one desk and computer is provided from PSD Yokosuka. Furthermore, each member is provided with their own computer accounts. PSD Yokosuka's working hours are: Monday-Friday 0800-1600 for customer service. Beach Detachment Personnel will be required to report: Monday-Friday at 0730-1630.

Supplies: Beach detachment personnel will be required to bring all supplies they will need to carry out tasks. For example, folders, tape, staples, pens, post-it notes, and etc... Beach Detachment Personnel are authorized to wear clean and pressed working utilities. Moreover, it is highly recommended to wear working whites or blues for a professional working appearance. Beach Detachment Personnel are required to have a recall number or location to be reached in case of emergency. Beach Detachment will need to have an account with WEB NSIPS.

Description of tasks: Beach Detachment Personnel will be responsible for all reporting gains, travel claims, transfers, and customer service.

Gains: Prospective gains will report to TPU. TPU will send over each member's record to PSD Yokosuka with a stamped copy of original orders and a green check-in card with the date each member checked-in to TPU. The beach detachment will make four copies of orders for (1) TPU and (3) KITTY HAWK and complete the page five entry for TPU and KITTY HAWK. The Beach Detachment will enter prospective gains into NSIPS WEB. TPU requires retains for all prospective gains, which include copies of: orders, family entry approvals, green check-in card and gaining document from NSIPS WEB. When the ship pulls back into port, a loss (L20) will be needed to process each member out of TPU. The L20 will be generated through NSIPS WEB. One copy of the gaining document and L20 will be placed in each member's service record and TPU retain.



Travel Claims: All prospective gains attend indoctrination at the Hawk's Nest. Beach detachment will request one day out of each week to complete travel claims for all new reporting PG's. This process usually takes up to three hours each visit.

Transfers: Beach Detachment will have all transfer records updated and completed before the ship goes underway. The beach detachment will retrieve all e-tickets from NAVPTO, which is located at PSD Yokosuka. The beach detachment will update page five once they receive the fly-out dates. The beach detachment will request a SH03 and L20 to be scanned from the transfer clerk.

Customer Service: Beach Detachment will provide all customer service for the USS KITTY HAWK. This includes: SOS, LOD, DD Form 1172's, OHA and MIHA, TLA, DLA, and TLE. Beach Detachment provides support for ESO, CO Admin, and other departments to which need help communicating from ship to shore for Sailors.

Training: Beach detachments will complete training before staying on the beach. Each member will be required to obtain a log book all of transactions taken place while the ship is underway. It is imperative each member has prior knowledge of pay entitlements, process travel claims, gains, and transfers. PSD Yokosuka provides various training at the beginning of the work days and the end of work days.
